5 Ingredient Fix & More

With the school year back in full swing and all of the hustle and bustle that comes along with that families are most likely finding it harder and harder to eat healthy. Whether it is stopping at a fast food restaurant on the way home from a volleyball game, ordering a pizza after finally getting all of the kids picked up from practice, or even throwing chicken nuggets and french fries in the oven for a quick and easy supper after a long day at work, it is easy for unhealthy choices to pile up quickly with our hectic lifestyles. Although not meaning too we make the decision to fill our bodies with foods that do not provide us with the nutrition we need because they are more convenient and readily available to us.

Does this sound like an issue you are struggling with? Would you like to learn how to eat healthier in the fast paced world we live in? Join us for “5 Ingredient Fix and More” on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Jo Daviess County Extension Office at 204 Vine St., Elizabeth, IL.

During this workshop Diane Reinhold, U of I Extension Nutrition and Wellness Educator, will cover many topics including ideas and strategies for home-cooked meals, time saving tips in the kitchen, and methods to reduce excess fat and sodium in meals. You will also have the opportunity to sample recipes and be sent home with great recipe ideas the whole family will love.
